Kommuninvest has today announced its plans to issue a new green bond, the sixth so far and the fourth in Swedish kronor. Danske Bank, Nordea and SEB have been appointed as management banks for the transaction. Given market conditions, a transaction can be expected in the near future. Transaction details are published closer to the transaction date.
Under its green bond framework, Kommuninvest loans Swedish municipal investment projects in eight areas, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, green buildings, public transport, water management and waste management.
As of December 31, 2018, Kommuninvest's green loan portfolio amounted to SEK 26.1 billion (19.9), related to 232 (146) investment projects in 109 (81) municipalities and regions. The green loan share, ie. green loans paid out in relation to total lending were 7.4 (6.5) percent. Comparative figures refer to December 31, 2017.
To finance the Green loans, Kommuninvest issues green bonds. As of December 31, 2018, SEK 20.4 billion (14.4) was outstanding in five (three) green bonds, making Kommuninvest Sweden's largest issuer of green bonds.
In total, Kommuninvest expects to borrow up to SEK 100-120 billion in long-term financing in 2019.
